Synopsis
They say there's a fine line between love and hate.
There is.
I married a douchebag.
I didn't know it at the time.
He came in like a handsome stranger and blew me off my feet.
I fell madly in love, like the naive girl I am.
Then he left me high and dry.
Turns out, I was nothing more than a business plan for billionaire playboy, Marcus Tandem.
He needed to be married in order to obtain his grandfathers business, and I was the poor victim in his path.
I believed in what we had, until the truth reared its ugly head.
I never meant anything to Marcus. Not a damned thing.
With my world spinning on its axis, the girl I once was has long since died.
Instead he left me as this empty, emotionless shell.
I may have made a vow before God to love and cherish him ‘Til Death do we part, but it’s time for me to give back to Marcus, exactly what he gave me.
He has to pay.
And pay he will.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned...
Ohhh man, was this book intense! After that explosive ending and cliffhanger from the first I couldn't wait for its conclusion. After her life is ripped apart, just how far will Katia go to get revenge? Can a betrayal so bad really be forgiven?
Ohhh man, was this book intense! After that explosive ending and cliffhanger from the first I couldn't wait for its conclusion. After her life is ripped apart, just how far will Katia go to get revenge? Can a betrayal so bad really be forgiven?
How am I supposed to pull myself together when my glue is f*cking gone?
Bella Jewel has seriously outdone herself with this book. It had me hooked from the very first page and I needed to read it the very moment that I had it. From the first book I didn't really like Marcus, he was a man that you loved to hate and I wondered if this book could change my views on him, and I wasn't disappointed. Fairly quickly in the book I started to really like him and root for him and Katia. It was actually Katia's actions in this book that had me gobsmacked and thinking that maybe she had slightly lost the plot...
This book is told in a dual POV and although it's mostly Katia's, the glimpses of Marcus's thoughts and his side of the story had me loving him just a little bit more every time. It is a very intense and emotional book, and Bella truly captures Katia's emotions and attitude towards Marcus brilliantly (even though some of those actions were just a tad extreme maybe) and I loved seeing the inner fight with herself and the one she had with Marcus. How can she move on when everything is still so raw, but he brings out all the familiar feelings in her?
My life will never be the same again, and it's him who will pay for that. One day, when I find a way to breathe again.
This is a relationship that has been pushed to the most extreme and this is the follow-up. Can they make it after all? There were times when I thought that Bella was going to go a completely different route with the ending and I actually thought 'No, she won't! .. Will she?' I loved the constant guessing with the book, as I love a story that keeps me on my toes and I can never tell where it's going to go next. It was one hell of a journey but I loved the ride and especially loved the ending. I was surprised at it, but the way it was set out proved a better ending overall for Katia and Marcus.
There are a lot of new names and interesting characters introduced in this book and I'd love to see which of them are going to get their own story.. Jahred? (hint hint) He needs a book!
"Don't think I wouldn't fix this if I could."
"But I don't know if something so toxic can be fixed."
Katia and Marcus are such strong characters and I loved reading the conclusion to their story. The brokenness of this book, and their relationship is what I think appealed to me most. It isn't plain sailing for them, there are a lot of aspects and revelations that need to air and sort themselves out before they can move on. I loved the shock factor and intensity of this book and I feel that Bella has outdone herself once again. I will always grab her books no matter what they are about and know that was is in-store for me will be brilliant. Cannot wait to see what's next on her agenda!
