Jess is feisty and strong headed. Her past haunts her and connects her to the dangerously dark Dimitri in
an unexpected way. Dimitri keeps his secrets locked deep inside, and Jess is drawn to this broken man like no one before.
With little to cling to besides their haunting pasts, both could have been doomed to lives spent raging against the darkness that holds them prisoner. Instead, it seems that as their pain draws them closer together, it is their desire that will set them free.

Review
“Revenge is a dish best served cold. That’s the way I am serving it – cold, empty, broken, and completely fucked up.”
Bella Jewel continues to prove why she is one of my favourite and go-to authors. Her books always deliver and have me anticipating every page. This was a book I couldn’t wait to read after finishing Enslaved by the Ocean and I found myself drawn in from the very start and loving every minute of it. This is a story of vengeance, finding love in unexpected places and eventually forgiveness. This book is full of drama, plot twists and will have you on the edge of your seat the entire way through.
We were first introduced to Dimitri, Hendrix’s stepson in the ending of the previous book, I mean, what a cliff-hanger that was! He wants revenge on Hendrix, who abandoned his mother and him when they needed him the most. Dimitri had a very rough start in life and blames Hendrix for this occurring. He wants vengeance and wants to hit Hendrix where it hurts, so he steals something dear to him in order to bring him to the open. Jess.
Revenge is all I’ve breathed for the past ten years. Now she’s making me question my sanity. She’s making me question everything I am.
Jess too, has suffered in life and when she was at her lowest, Hendrix was the one who saved her and offered her a new life and a fresh start. He is like the father she never had and due to this past are very close. She finds herself kidnapped and facing an entirely new kind of danger. What exactly is Dimitri’s game plan and just how far will he go to get his revenge?
As the two spend more and more time together, they begin to see each other in a new light. When they collide with one another they realise that they aren’t that different. Though their pasts aren’t the same, the scars they bare have impacted their lives dramatically. As they begin to examine into their pasts, they become closer and the lines between captor and captive get increasingly more blurred.
“Fuck, Jess, what do you want from me? I stole you. At what point did I go from being the enemy to fucking Prince Charming?”
When past and present collide, Jess needs the two most important men in her lives to overcome their issues and work together to save her. Can issues that run so deep really be forgiven? Or will Jess succumb to the threats of the past? This book is sooo good at delivering drama and angst but bringing in love and forgiveness in two broken characters. These two explode together and Dimitri is one brilliant man to read about, and Jess has so many sides to her that you are drawn to both of them and cannot wait for them to realise what’s in front of them.
This is another truly brilliant read from Bella and I love the fact that this story is about Pirates! I love stories that are different and capture your heart, and this book definitely does that. It is intense, meaningful and focuses on some very real issues that could impact anyone. It is both heart-breaking and heart-warming, and still is an unforgettable book. I love this series and cannot wait to see where she will take us next.
"You're my everything and you changed my world, Jessie. That's enough of a reason to kiss you every day, for the rest of your life."
