Synopsis
It’s been years since brilliant IT consultant Olivia James, fell for a man who had a deeply hidden compulsion to violence and control. Left healing physically and emotionally, she became a shadow of the confident woman she used to be. That is, until she meets Ethan O’Connell, a man who makes her burn with a powerful desire. Haunted by fear and insecurity, she desperately tries to resist him, doing all the right things to protect her heart, but she is betrayed by her desires and her attraction to
confident men. With stubborn perseverance, he ignores her attempts to push him away, leaving her wanting, desiring his love, needing it to feel alive and whole.

Ethan O’Connell is extremely successful in his businesses, with a seriously sexy Irish accent and a lethal kind of flare and charm. More than any one man should ever possess. Ethan knew, from the very first moment that he saw her that she is meant to be his. Used to getting the things he wants, he is determined to have her and struggles to control his Irish temper, the reason for his own troubled past. Olivia James is the woman that makes him want more, the kind of girl that would make any man think about forever. Afraid that he can’t live without her and unwilling to lose her, he hides his secrets and ignores his dark desires and fantasies of control.

Eccentric Psychic, Eva Storm is drawn to the energy around them. She knows that they are soul mates bound by past lives and helps the universe steer them together. Ethan is hesitant to believe at first, but there are things he can’t ignore. Things he couldn’t possibly know, but does. Neither of them can deny the dreams and memories that they both share, but Olivia is too afraid to believe and not willing to trust her heart.

Convinced that she is “THE ONLY ONE” for him, Ethan refuses to walk away, vowing that he will never give up on her, even if it means he has to fight hard enough for both of them. Can he control his temper and his needs in order to keep her in his life? Can she heal her past wounds and let him in? Like no other woman in his life, Olivia challenges him with her strong will and sharp sense of humor, making him wonder if she could ever become a willing captive of his dominance. Ethan hopes with all his heart that she will become equally addicted to his love, and a sneaky suspicion that falling in love with Olivia James is about to bring on a shift in the balance of power in his world.

My Review
I absolutely fell in love with this book. It has everything you could ever want a book to have, from the story line, to the plot twists, the characters and a hint of mystery mixed in together. I actually wanted to cry when this book finished – you’ll see why when you read the book. I think I almost broke my iPad trying to find an extra page that wasn’t there. Tricia Daniels does an excellent job of developing the characters, allowing you to understand each one of them, fall in love with them and feel their happiness, heartbreak and love throughout the story. This woman has definite raw talent when it comes to writing books that makes you so emotional when reading, to the point where you feel as though you are living the books for yourself.

“Something profound happened between them on that day, something almost ethereal. What started as friendship, blossomed into love. Best friends became lovers. With that long awaited first kiss, they awaken entangled souls. Nothing will ever be the same. Eternity will always be theres.”

I adored the relationship between Ethan and Olivia SO MUCH! They were perfect together. You could feel the love and chemistry coming off the page but at times I really just wanted to shout at them. They each bring their own problems and insecurities into the relationship, but when they are together, they just click in place. Olivia is scarred by a truly horrid past relationship and, unfortunately for Ethan, she tarnishes everyone with this same brush. She expects him to leave, cheat or get angry. She’s terrified when he gets angry because of his past relationship, and Ethan has a short fuse, which doesn’t necessarily go down well. Poor Ethan is struggling with his own demons in the form of his ex, but when he meets Olivia, his world is changed. He wants her for himself. He’s confused by the feelings she brings forth in him. He tries so hard for her and I loved to see the sweet side of him and how he is with Olivia. Even with his bad points, you can’t bring yourself not to like him.

“All he knows right now is that after being with her the past few days, staying away from her is no longer an option. He can’t. He won’t.”

There is a lot of back and forth with the relationship as both struggle to come to terms with their feelings. While they both try, Olivia is constantly telling Ethan that it’s not exclusive, they should see other people when he just wants her. This plan does come to blows however and you want to grab and shake Olivia for continually suggesting this. That was my only gripe with her. She tells him to do something, so he does it, and then she gets upset. Make up your mind woman!

“It is safe to say he has it bad for Olivia James and he doesn’t think that feeling will ever go away. Love her.”

There are a lot of issues and situations throughout the book, but in no way are you overwhelmed at all. Instead, I feel they add to overall feel and depth of the book. I loved the other characters in the book especially Scott. He was always the voice of reason, and although usually right, no one actually listened to his advice. Him and his wife Rachel were such a cute couple, but also added to the realness of the story as they too dealt with their own issues. There’s also the old lady. I’m still trying to figure that aspect of the book to be honest, I get what she means but the air of mystery has me wondering how she knows all these things. Who is she? I hear you ask. You’ll have to read to fin out her role in the book. Overall, this is an amazing book that I feel everyone should read, you don’t like/love every character but you do go on their journey with them. An amazing book and eagerly awaiting the next one. THE ENDING! Tricia Daniels you tease! I loved and hated the ending, but the ending line was priceless. “Go fuck yourself, Ireland”. Perfect.
